These two stone forts are located in very close proximity to each other. It was guessed that one was used more for living, and the other for protecting the livestock in case of attack. Sitting on top of a hill overlooking the verdant countryside, these forts had an ideal location.
See that group of cows? Yeah, we had to walk through their pasture in order to reach the stone forts. They bunched up and started walking towards us… I think they can smell fear.
Here, I’m standing on the wall of the higher of the two stone forts, looking down towards the other one. It was pretty obvious that the cows really enjoyed visiting the stone forts as well, judging from the many tracks and cow patties scattered liberally on the ground.
The walls of these forts were pretty thick.
There seemed to be a swampy area to one side of the forts, but possibly that was just from the storm that had passed through a few days ago.
Here is the entrance to one of the forts.
Glad we braved the menacing cows to see these forts!
